Londrina Central - An Introduction

Londrina Central, the first community in Lakeland Florida was established by the Lakeland Lumber Company in 1911. This community is situated on the banks of the Londrina River just above the town of Milledgeville. Londrina Central offers a beautiful riverfront community to the people who live and work in the area.

The Londrina Central Public Library, the Londrina Central City Hall, and the Londrina Central Library are located within the boundaries of this community. There is also a fire station on the west side of town and the City Park is located on the west bank of the Londrina River. The Londrina Central Community Center and Community Tennis Court are located on the east side of town at the corner of Eastgate Way and Sanger Road. A boat ramp is located on the Londrina Central Community Lake on the west side of town and is available for boat owners to use.

The Londrina Central Board of Trade, the Londrina Central Chamber of Commerce and the Londrina Central Fire Department have been actively involved in the community since its beginning. Londrina Central has a well-organized police force that provides protection to residents of the community. The Londrina Central Fire Department is the oldest fire department in the Lakeland area. The Londrina Central Police Department serves the community with 24 hour police protection. The Londrina Central Fire Department is the local fire department for the community.

A Londrina Central community picnic is held on Saturdays during the summer months. There are a variety of events that take place at Londrina Central during the summer and spring. A series of concerts takes place on Friday evenings at the Londrina Central Public Library. On Thursday nights the Londrina Central City Council meets to decide on local government activities for the upcoming year.

The Londrina Central Community Center plays host to the Londrina Central Jazz Festival. The Londrina Central Summerfest has numerous exhibits and performances that take place throughout the summer. The Londrina Central Senior Community Center has an active senior center where many senior citizens to visit for a wide variety of reasons. They are able to purchase special foods and items for their homes. At Londrina Central Senior Citizens Club there are many social and recreation groups. That includes golf, tennis and swimming.

The Londrina Central Lighthouse, which is also known as the Lighthouse for the Blind, is the most popular lighthouse in all of Lakeland Florida. This historic lighthouse is also serves as a public landmark. The Lighthouse is made up of an original lighthouse and a replica of a second lighthouse. There are also a historical museum inside of the lighthouse and a beautiful pool. There is also a historic museum that is located near the Lighthouse and that features various artifacts that were used to light the lighthouse. The Lighthouse is one of the best tourist attractions in all of Lakeland Florida.
